Sustainability & Impact

At Flexpay, we are deeply committed to empowering Kenyans with financial solutions that promote sustainable living. Our focus on clean cooking and climate-smart agriculture demonstrates our dedication to helping households and farmers transition to environmentally friendly technologies while tackling Kenya’s pressing environmental challenges. Explore our key initiatives below:

Clean Cooking Solutions (E-Cooking)

Transforming Kenya’s Cooking Habits for a Cleaner Future

Traditional cooking methods, such as using firewood and charcoal, contribute to deforestation, air pollution, and poor health outcomes for millions of Kenyans. Over 70% of households in Kenya still rely on these harmful fuels, with more than 21,500 premature deaths annually attributed to household air pollution.

At Flexpay, we are making clean cooking more accessible by allowing families to save gradually for energy-efficient cooking technologies such as pressure cookers, induction cookers and air fryers through our Save Now, Buy Later platform.

Our Impact:

  • 2,000 households have already adopted clean cooking technologies through Flexpay.
  • We’ve helped reduce 8,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
  • Families have improved their health and reduced household air pollution.

Our Vision for 2025: By 2025, our goal is to help 10,000 households transition to clean cooking, cutting CO2 emissions by 35,000 tons annually and contributing to Kenya’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions by 32%.

Call for Support:
We are seeking $500,000 in funding to scale this initiative, expand distribution to underserved regions, and raise awareness about the benefits of clean cooking. Your partnership will help us provide affordable access to clean energy solutions and create a healthier, greener Kenya.

Climate-Smart Agriculture

Empowering Kenyan Farmers with Climate-Resilient Solutions

Kenya’s agricultural sector is the backbone of its economy, yet it is highly vulnerable to climate change. Prolonged droughts and erratic rainfall are causing decreased crop yields and threatening food security for millions of farmers. If no action is taken, Kenya’s agricultural output could drop by 10% by 2030.

Flexpay is empowering farmers to access climate-smart technologies, such as solar-powered irrigation systems and drought-resistant seeds, by offering a flexible saving option. Farmers can gradually save for these technologies, improving their resilience against climate risks and boosting their productivity.

Our Impact:

  • We have supported 1,500 farmers in adopting sustainable farming practices.
  • This has resulted in an average 20% increase in crop yields and improved water efficiency, particularly in drought-prone areas.

Our Vision for 2025: By 2025, Flexpay aims to support 15,000 farmers in adopting climate-smart agriculture technologies, enhancing food security and reducing environmental degradation.

Call for Support:
To scale this program, Flexpay is seeking $750,000 in funding. This investment will help us reach more farmers, provide training on sustainable practices, and create partnerships with suppliers to make climate-smart technologies more affordable and accessible.
